Meet Our Commercial Bankers

Tim Oliver

The nearly 20-year veteran of STAR serves as the Market President in Marion. As part of his role, Jim helps commercial clients with all their lending and deposit needs. However, on any given day, he can find himself helping commercial clients, retail clients, our front-line staff and anyone else in our four Grant County branches. Marion is a Legacy market for STAR. Jim earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Indiana University, is a 2019 Graduate of the IBA Leadership Development Program and a 2019 participant of the STAR Leadership Development program at Manchester University. After starting on the teller line at STAR, Jim spent 2 years on the retail side of banking before getting hired in the credit department of commercial underwriting. He spent another 3 to 4 years learning business banking and underwriting deals in Indianapolis when the market crashed in 2008. From there he became a small business lender and eventually a Commercial Banker working on larger size deals. Originally from Marion, he was asked to come work in the Marion Market in 2014. After 5 or 6 years of working in Marion, he was promoted to Market President He recently served on the board of directors at the YMCA and Carey Services Inc., was the board chair for the Captain Brandon A Barrett Hero Fund at Community Foundation and as a board member of Spirits for Smiles

David Smith

Jake is Vice President, Senior Commercial Banker at STAR Bank working out of the Indianapolis Monument Circle branch. He has been with the organization since 2001. He started with 2 years of credit training, in commercial lending over the last 21 years and spent a couple years in work out from 2009-2011.  He has spent the last 13 years focusing on commercial real estate and construction lending. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Indiana University and volunteers at the Saint Mary’s Child Center in Indianapolis.

Todd is a Senior Commercial Banker working out of our Columbia City location where he assists STAR’s agricultural clients on operating, equipment, and real estate loans, primarily focusing on agribusiness and other business opportunities. He came to STAR after spending 27 years in lending with Wells Fargo, PNC, Crossroads Bank and Ag Resource Management. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Management and Supervision and is a graduate of the Wells Fargo College of Credit. Todd has served as the President of the Huntington County 4-H Fair Association, on the Huntington County Council, was a Past President of Pathfinder Foundation Board and has also been on the Huntington County Solid Waste Board. He also served on the Community Corrections of Huntington County.

Parry is a Senior Commercial Banker working out of STAR’s corporate headquarters in Fort Wayne. He works with and advises Middle Market businesses in the Fort Wayne and surrounding areas with credit needs of $1MM and above along with connecting customers with other STAR banking partners on all of their banking and financial needs. My main area of focus is helping owners and company leadership on their growth and financial strategies to help them succeed. He has been in commercial banking for nearly three decades, spending time with Countrymark Commodities, National City Bank, Wells Fargo Bank and a couple of local banks before accepting a position with STAR Financial Bank in 2016. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, is a 2005 Leadership Fort Wayne graduate and a 2019 graduate of the Indiana Bankers Association Leadership Development Program.

Jeff Dysert, VP, Senior Commercial Banker comes to STAR with nearly 30 years of banking experience, almost 20 of which are in Commercial Lending. He has worked at Horizon Bank and PNC Bank prior to joining the STAR team. He holds an M.B.A. and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne. He graduated from the ABA Banking School and from Leadership Fort Wayne. Dysert previously served on the Finance Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and Board of Directors at Erin’s House for Grieving Children and as a treasurer and past board President of Peace Montessori School. He will be located in Fort Wayne’s downtown STAR office.

Chris is a Senior Ag/Business Banker for STAR and has been in banking for over two decades, the last few with STAR.  He came to STAR after spending 18 years at Wells Fargo, all in Ag commercial banking. Chris works with farmers, agribusiness owners, and business owners on helping meet their financial needs, which can be through helping their operating with operating lines of credit, equipment notes, real estate purchases, or business acquisitions.  He can also help their depository needs as well.  He earned his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in Agribusiness and Applied Economics, followed by his Master’s Degree. He is also a graduate of the Indiana Banker’s Association Commercial Lending School.

Megan is a Commercial Banker at STAR and has been a part of the team since 2019, working out of the Indianapolis Monument Circle location. She was hired into STAR’s Commercial Banking Associate (CBA) Program which was two years of formal commercial credit training. There Megan underwrote commercial loans, tested covenants and reviewed borrowing base reports. In 2021, she graduated the CBA Program and transitioned into a Commercial Banker role.  Currently, Megan interacts with current and prospective STAR commercial clients on financing needs. Clients in her portfolio typically partner with STAR for lines of credit, equipment debt and commercial mortgages for both owner-occupied spaces and investment real estate. She manages business loan originations, renewals and on-going account compliance for existing clients, and I co-create financing solutions for prospective clients. Megan has a Bachelors in Finance & Marketing from Purdue University and currently serves as the Co-Chair of sponsorships on the board at Indy Real.

Smith will serve commercial and industrial clients for STAR, primarily in the bank’s north region from Fort Wayne north to Angola. He will also serve investment real estate and owner-occupied real estate clients. Additionally, Smith is the CFO and Co-Founder of Team Focus Basketball, a developmental AAU basketball program in the Fort Wayne and surrounding areas for the past 8 years. They provide not only as a place to play, but focus on off-the-floor development such as giving back to the community, team building and mental health. He also serves on the advisory board for the Salvation Army on the Finance Committee. He earned his associate degree in business, bachelor’s degree in finance and a Bank Management Certificate from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Greg is a commercial banker that has worked in banking for over a decade and currently serves our customers out of STAR’s Anderson location.  He is responsible for the origination of commercial loans, deposits and banking services to business clients, typically in Madison County.  Greg retains and expands existing client relationships with STAR, acquiring new relationships, and working with centers of influence to grow the STAR brand. Greg gives back to the community by serving on the Heart of Indiana United Way Board of Directors, and as a committee member of Alternatives in Madison County, and prior Board of Directors member of the Anderson Noon Rotary Club.  Greg earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Indiana State University.  He’s been married to my wife, Dawn for over 20 years and has 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren.  In his spare time, Greg enjoy golfing, working out, fishing, and spending time with family.

Spending over 25 years with STAR Financial Bank and nearly 40 years in the financial sector, Mike is a Vice President of the central region for STAR and a Senior Commercial Banker. He attended Ball State University and Marquette University and spends his time volunteering in the community with Youth Muncie YMCA, Treefort Indiana, Secret Families, Cornerstone Center for the Arts, Habitat for Humanity, Appletree Child Development, Morrison Mock League, Muncie Rotary, Muncie Schools and the Halteman Association.

Jason Miller

Abby Raven

CJ, a 20+ year veteran of the banking industry, serves as a Senior Commercial Banker at STAR. He came to the organization after working for 16 years at Chase and another four years at KeyBank, the last two of them in commercial banking. For STAR, CJ serves businesses that produce revenue of up to $250 million. He received his Bachelors of Science from Ball State University in Corporate finance and Financial Planning. He spends his time giving back to the community, volunteering for Gleaners Food Bank and the John H Boner Center in Indianapolis.

Jeffrey Huff

Jeffrey is a commercial banker working out of STAR’s High Street Muncie location and has spent over 20 years with STAR, with banking experience dating back to 1988. Born and raised in Muncie, Jeffrey attended both Ivy Tech College and Ball State University. He serves his community through his service with the Knight of Columbus as a council director, as a finance committee member at St. Michael, and St. Lawrence and serving as the treasurer of the board of directors at Open Door Health Services. Jeffrey is married to his wife Julie and has two daughters and four grandchildren and is a lifelong member at Saint Lawrence Church. In his spare time, Jeffrey loves to spend time golfing, boating, hiking and taking beach vacations with his family.
